Start : Water Treatment Works car park, Afton Reservoir. Grid ref. NS 627 054
(S/E) From the car park, walk up the road towards the dam (South-East), and follow to the right.
(1) Once on the road that runs round the loch, turn right and head back uphill and through the gate.
(2) Turn left and follow the road leading to wind turbines, keeping left at the first junction, then right at the next one heading uphill. Pass over two gated entrances with cattle grids and make your way to the back of the last turbine.
Look for the fence on your right and follow. It's easier to follow the fence for a bit than try and climb over here, the fence is removed about 50 metres afterwards. Cross through onto the trail before the fence appears again, beware of the marsh area fenced off on the left.
Follow the trail all the way, its dips down a little before climbing again. As you start to climb again, beware of the fence from here on as it is electrified.
(3) Once at the top (Wedder Hill), turn to your right and follow the road to the Trig Point. You can return from here otherwise, another Point of Interest here is the De'ils Putting Stone, about 500 metres from the corner of the fence behind the turbine you passed on the way up.
Follow the fence from the corner and head downhill. You should see a large stone to your right after about 5 mins, before the ground starts to level out a bit.
(4) Return is the same route, again be careful of the fence. (S/E)
