Description

Park at the Pay and Displays car park in Wick Lane, Tuckton. There is also some parking along the road.

(S/E) Join the Stour Valley Way along the River Stour and go east. After a while, you're going to pass the Hengistbury Head Outdoor Education Centre on your left. Cross the paved road and continue on the small path in front of you. After a few meters, you will pass next to the Hengistbury Head Visitor Centre on your right.

(1) Turn right and then left to go up to Warren Hill, which is the higher point of this walk. Take the path on the right to Hengistbury Head. While you're walking on this portion, look far ahead and you should see a polar bear in the white cliff.

(2) Take the small path on your right and walk along the bay until you hit the end of it. Take a turn and come back to (3) using the same way.

(3) Turn right and follow the main paved path until you reach (1)

(1) From there, use the same path you used earlier until you are back at the Hengistbury Head Outdoor Education Centre, which is on you right now. Don't take the small gate you passed earlier but the big one which is on the left of the two boards. Walk straight until you hit Wick Lane. Then, walk carefully on the roadside to the car park (S/E)

Beautiful walk - very attractive river views, leading to beach and then cliff views out to sea and looking across to the Isle Of Wight. Delightful. Easy route to follow.
