Description

(S/E) Out of the gate, turn left down the lane downhill towards the river bridge. Cross over the river and keep going down the lane past first public footpath sign, on left, until you reach a second public footpath sign also on the left.

(1) Turn left through metal gate descend a grassy path towards Afon Teigl. Walk along the bank of the river taking in the spectacular views and tumbling waterfalls. After a while, you will meet a track on the right.

(2) Turn right up the track for a short while and take left again on Snowdonia Slate Trail. Follow this path through woodland. The path will bring you close to the river again in a couple of places but keeping going until you descend steeply to a T junction.

(3) Turn sharply left almost turning back on yourself. After a while, you will cross a bridge over the river. Follow the path uphill next to a farm track. At a sharp right hand bend, take the footpath directly in front which continues uphill towards the local form. At the farm, follow the farm track for a while but look out for the footpath which will take you uphill just left of the farm track. Continue on this path until you reach the road bringing you into the outskirts of Llan Ffestiniog.

(4) At the road, turn right for a short while then immediately left and follow this road to the main road through Llan. Turn left after the pub and follow Blaenau Road back to the Haybarn front door. (S/E)
