Description

(S) From North Piddle, go across the crossroads then walk North past the Moat House and, after 250 paces, take the signed gap right. Go up the slope with the hedge right to find the double fence stile. Take the stile and go ahead with the hedge right to exit the field by a stile.

Go ahead with the hedge right to take a kissing gate, go immediately right and take the kissing gate. Go left with a hedge left to take the gate, continue with the hedge left to take the far corner gate. Go 1/2 left up the field. Exit the field by the right hand of two stiles.

(1) Go left with the hedge and fence left to pass between two dew ponds to take a stile. Go ahead to take the gate, then left around the tennis court to come to the driveway. Go left on the very short driveway to Radford Road, Flyford Flavell.

Turn right on the road to pass the church and The Boot Inn. Proceed straight across the road junction and follow the road past the speed de-restriction sign and after 40 paces take a gate left.

(2) Go ahead with the fence right across the narrow unkempt field to the metal gate. Take the gate and go ahead towards the hedge stile 20 paces to the right of the corner gate (or just use the gap). The village of Kington can be seen over to your rigth.

Take the stile and go directly across the centre of the field to find the stile. Take the stile and go ahead over next field, passing a dew pond, to come to mid hedge stile.

(3) Take the stile and go right to follow round field edge with the hedge right. Ignore the path right over the stream, but continue to follow round field with the hedge right to the corner gap leading to the road.

Crossing the road go slightly to the right and cross over the stile. Go right and pass the house on your right, maintain the line to find mid hedge stile. Cross the stile, go ahead, with a wire fence left. Pass a copse left and exit the field by a large metal gate. Go 1/2 left to take a double stile/plank bridge then go ahead slightly left to take a further double stile/plank bridge. Go 1/2 L to left-hand corner field stile.

(4) Take a stile and go under power cables down the field to the far bottom field corner. Some 30 paces to the left of the corner take the double gated bridge over a stream. Go diagonally right up the field on sometimes ill defined path, to take the gateway to the main road (A422).

Cross the road and take the minor road uphill to Dormston for 1/3 mile. Find a double metal gate rigth opposite the entrance to Hill Farmhouse Bed & Breakfast and take the fence gap to the left of a gate.

(5) Go ahead on the track and past outbuildings. Keep ahead with the hedge left to the field edge gap. Continue ahead with the hedge left. Where the hedge ends go diagonally left across the field to find a partially obscured waymarked gap 15 paces to the right of the field corner (if heavily cropped go around the left edge of that field).

Take the gap into the coppice. Go ahead 5 paces and then left to take the wooden gate in the corner. Go diagonally right up the centre of a large field to the left of the far field corner coppice. Go right with the hedge left to take the gap ahead to the field.

(6) Go diagonally left heading for Broadclose Farm buildings, under two sets of power lines to exit by the waymarked metal gate in the corner (there may be motocross events here from time to time). Go ahead into the farm with the fence left to the track and then ahead with the fence right to take the corner metal gate.

Follow waymarks through this tricky little section. Go left through another 5 bar gate and ahead to the marker to turn right to go between farm barns.

Go ahead to cross the track and take the fence stile into a field. Go 1/2 right to the Stile/Bridge/Stile in the sunken hedge gap. Ahead across the field to exit by stile and ditch bridge. Go 1/4 left up the field to take the obscured stile in the mid hedge gap.

Ahead with the hedge left and gardens right to take the small wooden gate to the left of the 5 bar wooden gate. Go ahead on the track with the hedge left to take the further small wooden gate to the left of another 5-bar wooden gate. Continue on the grass track to the road.

(7) Cross the road straight ahead to take steps up to the alleyway between properties. Exit to the grassy path and go left when Tuer Way is ahead (you can detour at this point a quarter of a mile to Inkberrow pubs and shop). (S/E)
