Mill Race Trail Walk - Antrim Town
The Mill Race Trail is a site of importance in terms of its industrial heritage and wildlife value. Follow the way markers and information panels as they tell the story of the Six Mile Water. There is no entrance fee and leaflets on the Trail are available from Antrim Information Centre.

Description
Start : Riverside, Antrim, at the Y-junction with 51B Riverside, Antrim (BT41 4BL).
(S/E) Starting at Riverside, where the road forks, follow the gravelled left fork uphill (South-East) onto the Trail passing a green metal fingerpost.
(1) After 320 m or so, follow the path South-West under the Belmont Road and old railway viaduct before reaching the Salmon Leap Bridge 720m later on.
(2) Cross the bridge then carry on the Mill Race Trail (East). After the site of the former Boghill Mill and village, the walk passes by some beautiful woodland, past the remains of the Moylinny Bank Mill and Waterwheel, finishing at Shakey Bridge after 1.7 Km along Six Mile Water.
(3) Cross the bridge. You can then exit the trail at the Oldstone Road (A26) or retrace your steps back to Antrim Town Centre following the same route back. (S/E)

Start & parking : Riverside, Antrim, at the Y-junction with 51B Riverside, Antrim (BT41 4BL).
Alternatively, you can park your car at Kirby’s Lane then walk in either direction.
Driving to start : The Trail can be accessed from Antrim Town Centre. From High Street in Antrim town centre, turn right into Riverside.

Facilities : Information panels, picnic tables, and bike stands are available along the walk.
