Lynn Glen Circular, Dalry
This short circular walk around the Caaf Water is packed with unexpected ‘fairy’ surprises hidden within a tranquil wooded glen. The gorge is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest because of the unique and interesting rocks it contains. Perfect for families and for anyone who likes waterfalls!
Description
Start: The walk starts from the car park at Lynn Bridge, Dalry (KA24 4JT).
(S/E) Leave the car park and turn right onto the main road.
(1) Cross over Lynn Bridge and just past the traffic lights there is a gate on your right which leads into Lynn Glen.
Follow the footpath (West) clockwise through the woodlands to pass a series of waterfalls, wood carvings, and fairy doors with the river on your right-hand side. After 0.5 miles (800m), cross over the river via the footbridge and at the next junction, keep right (North West) to follow a footpath back into the woods with the river still on your right-hand side. Another 0.5 miles (800m) along, you will emerge at a cluster of cottages on High Lynn.
(2) Continue ahead along the lane and look out for a gate on your right signposted for the picnic area. Passing through here leads back to the car park at Lynn Bridge. (S/E)

Useful Information
Parking: Lynn Bridge car park (D) is small and can get busy at peak times (weekends, school holidays, etc) so arrive early to avoid disappointment / car share where possible.
Terrain: The paths can be muddy at times and there are several sets of stairs.
Temporary arrangements: At the time of my visit (August 2020) there was a one-way system in place for this walk due to COVID-19 so the Description takes that into consideration. There is also signage on-site.

Great little walk into the woods and along the river. Plenty of carved woods and a nice waterfall. Even really nice on a rainy day!
