(S) From the Hawsker Bottoms bus stop, walk down Bottoms Lane towards the Northcliffe Holiday Park, pass the Coast Cafe and reception building and take the second left and walk down through the caravans. At the end of the caravans, bear left across the grass and pick up the path to the side of the water treatment plant. This will take you back to the Cleveland Way.
(1) At the signpost, turn right towards Robin Hoods Bay. The footpath initially is grass, however, this turns into a paved footpath climbing to the brow of the first hill,
(2) You will reach a drystone wall, to your right is a National Trust sign, ignore this and continue straight ahead on the paved footpath over Limekiln Slack. When you climb up the other side continue to walk along the clifftop path for some distance.
(3) After a relatively level path, the route descends to Raindale Slack, cross the wooden bridge at the bottom and climb back up to the cliff tops. At the top, you will see another National Trust sign, ignore this and continue walking straight ahead crossing a second wooden bridge. When you reach Craze Naze you will cross another wooden bridge.
(4) You will come to 2 kissing gates, take the second one marked Cleveland Way and continue along the cliff top hugging the fence as the path here is not well defined. At the end of the fence, you will find another kissing gate and a bench should you wish to stop for a rest. Continue taking the wooden steps up the hill. Ignore the stile to your right and continue straight ahead. You will then pass another stile on your right, continue straight ahead looking to your left for the views towards Robin Hoods Bay. Cross the stream via the wooden bridge, there is another National Trust sign here (Rocket Post Field),
(5) Continue through the 2 kissing gates, after the second you will see a bench if you wish to rest with views across the bay and an information board. The path here is much more well defined and there is a second bench. Continue through the next kissing gate into a wooded area. This passes in front of a number of cottages.
(6) You will exit onto Mount Pleasant North. There is a clear sign here for the Cleveland Way and Cinder Track. Continue straight ahead, then turn left at the Grosvernor pub and walk down Station Road (B1447).
(7) Passing the Victoria Hotel (left) and car park (right), cross the roundabout taking the footpath down towards the sea then joining New Road. Continue until you reach the Bay Hotel (E).
