Description

Start : Pass of Glencoe Three Sisters Car Park and viewpoint. PH49 4HX

(S/E) From the car park, walk up to the end of it towards the uphill side of the road to find a footpath on your left.

(1) Keep left down the path and walk to a junction with a wider path where you turn left up the hill. Walk for a while on this well-designed path going down to River Coe down some iron staircases.

(2) At the bottom of the stairs, turn left along the riverside. Cross the river using the wooden footbridge then go up the rocky bit using the cable handrail. Be careful it can be slippery. Going up the hill all the way to the end of the valley keep following the riverside (with the river on your left) using the main footpath. On the way, you will encounter some rocky parts, wooden boards, and slippery areas.

(3) Pass through a wide fence still straight up the hill. Enjoy views of the gorge and waterfalls. After a while, when you reach two big rocks and like a beach on your left-hand side, walk left and cross the stream. Do not go straight ahead it is quite a tricky scramble.

(4) When you crossed the stream, take the footpath going up the hill right with the river now on your right-hand side. You will find some steps and a "rock" to climb over. At the path junction, turn left up the hill. (All the paths will bring you to the same area but it is easier this way). At some stage, you can't miss the view of the whole Lost Valley in front of you.

(5) You can stop here and find your way back to the car funding the same footpath down the hill or you can go further down the hill to get to the valley bottom. (S/E)
