Park at the car park in La Fouly. Walk through the village and take the ski-lift to (S)
Since this hike begins with a ski lift trip, don't use the function "Go to the starting point". It will guide you at the arrival of the walk.
(S) Leave the ski lift, turn right and take the track downhill through some bends to a junction with a signposted path on the left.
(1) Take the path and walk diagonally downhill through pastures to a junction with a path on the right.
(2) Stay on the top path and continue past the low walls of some abandoned buildings next to a farm.
(3) Turn left and head uphill and around the pasture and into a light wood. The path passed up in front of a concrete building and comes to a junction with another path going uphill. (Chemin de Bouquetins: Note in Aug 2019 this part of the walk was closed)
(4) Continue along the path Sentier des Bergers and into more woodland before exiting into the pasture and descending to a milking parlour.
(5) Take the track down from the farm building to pass a restaurant and join the road. Turn right and walk along the road to Ferret. As you enter the village there is a signpost on the left showing the way.
(6) Turn left at the signpost and follow the path to Petit Col Ferret, it will cross a bridge over the river and head through light woodland and then up through a pasture (there may be cows) to the Gite de la Lechere.
(7) La Lechere is a good place to enjoy a drink; their homemade ice cream is delicious. Leave the Gite and follow the track going gently down to a path over the field on the right.
(8) Walk over the field and down to a bridge, cross over the river and join the road again. Turn left and walk towards La Fouly. Just before the village, there is a path on the left.
(9) Take the path off the road which leads down to a bridge, turn right and join the road leading up into La Fouly in front of the ski-lift. Turn left and walk back to the parking.
