Park your car at Cam peak car park.
(S/E) Head directly to the hill in front of you, climb to the top of Cam peak after a short but steep ascent. The 360° view is worth it! You can see Dursley, the Berkeley Vale and River Severn far away. Go down the hill left side for 200 metres until you reach a junction.
(1) Go straight ahead, follow the public bridleway (blue arrow) which goes up (slightly left). This is also Cotswold Way! The overlooking path follows Cam Long Down with nice views of the Berkeley Vale and Coley Peak.
(2) You finally reach a stile with a yellow arrow. Go through it going down across the open meadow. Go through a second one before you join a road. Continue straight this way before you bear left. Go past Springfield Farm, then ascend the path in the woods and bear right at the fork. This steep section leads to a metallic gate next to the road. Turn right to the public bridleway along this road going through the wooden gate.
(3) Bear right at the junction where you can read interesting explanations about Uley Bery, a prehistoric hill fort! Walk around the Bury (on your way, ignore a stile on your right) until you reach a viewpoint over Downham Hill Uley and its valley.
(4) Go straight down this path with a blue arrow for 50 metres until you find a gate slightly left. Go through it and descend the path in the woods which leads to a road Turn left and quickly right to the track (Public Bridleway signpost). Continue this track for 350 metres ignoring a footpath on your left.
(5) At crossroads with Newbrook Farm, go straight ahead. Follow the bridleway which bends right. After one kilometre, you finally reach a stile with a yellow arrow, Go across the open field and farm buildings in front of you.
(6) At crossroads, head to Cotswold Way signpost and go up the field along the hedge. Past the field, Bear right when you reach the path in the woods.
(7) Then, bear left to the path which joins the first junction of the walk. This time, go straight and descend the path in the woods leading to the car park.(S/E)
