Useful Information

Car Park : Start the walk at Stanhope Hall on Boston Road, there is a free carpark at The Wong.

Once in the town center, there are numerous options for a lovely lunch or coffee break and Horncastle is still a town of, mostly, independant shop keepers, so relish in a High Street with a difference!

An interesting heritage walk around Horncastle town centre discovering its varied history along some of its narrow lanes and paths. Description of the route steps was quite accurate with exception of two house numbers which were incorrect; 2nd Blue Plaque Annie Dixon is at No.40 not No.30 and the 10th Blue Plaque William Marwood is at No. 6 not No. 26. When printed the map route was too small to be of any use (but not needed anyway). There are plenty of cafes, tea-rooms and restaurants to get refreshments. The Cattle Market Car Park is convenient and free.
